Ansh Gala | Week 12: Loud Sounds

There are many forms of energy around us, but in my opinion the most enjoyable energy is sound energy. This is not just because I like listening to music, but just the magnitude of the energy itself. Sound waves are actual waves that move around us and bounce off walls, all to reach our ears. These waves make us hear different things based on their magnitudes.

But the thing I like most about sound waves has to be the vibrations you feel when the sound waves are coursing through the air and ground.

The other day I was at a dance performance. Dancing is always something I enjoy, but performing is something I love because of how the music feels when making every dance move, or how the stage shakes with every beat.

Another place where the sound waves are buzzing in the air, is at a concert. At a concert, the music is played immensely loud, and there are huge crowds. The moment when the bass kicks in and everyone in the audience starts singing, is when the sound waves penetrate your body and shake your whole body. Honestly it feels like my heart beat aligns with the music beat.

I mean sound energy is so powerful that we even compare speeds to it. When planes and jets go fast and break the sound barrier, huge blasts are made. When lightning strikes, we hear the roar of thunder.

These amazing moments of sound energy just show its power. The way concerts can cause earthquakes, and performances can create entertainment is all because of sound.

  1. Hi Ansh! Since I'm listening to music right now, this is super relevant. I agree that the most enjoyable energy is sound energy. Mechanical energy, light energy, and motion energy are nothing! Just kidding, they're important in their own ways. But seriously, this is a really creative blog that I definitely couldn't have thought of. The way you describe sound energy in dance performances and concerts is full of imagery. Thank you for sharing such an interesting topic! I enjoyed reading your blog!

  2. Hi Ansh,
Your blog was enjoyable to read, and I can heavily relate to what you said about sound energy being powerful not just in its raw form, but also as music. In fact, I am listening to music as I am typing all this out. I believe that out of all the different kinds of energy out there, sound energy is the one humans can connect to the most, since it appeals to one of our five main senses the most. I also like how you described the feeling when listening to music, it pretty much sums up how I feel at performances. Thank you for sharing.

  3. Hey Ansh! This post was definitely interesting to read, and I relate to a lot of your points about soundwaves. Some of my favorite songs are the ones with a really heavy bass, to the point where when I listen to them wearing headphones, they start to vibrate from the sheer energy. The power of these soundwaves lies in the fact that they can shape your mood; higher-pitched, faster sounds make you feel more energized and upbeat, whereas lower-pitched sounds do the complete opposite. And about your point on concerts: have you seen the videos of the crowd during Travis Scott’s tour? The energy at his performances is so insane that you can feel the adrenaline rush just by sitting there and watching it.
