Sports is something that has made its way into my life, and it will not be leaving for a while. Whenever I either feel bored or just stressed, sports is the one thing that is there, and whenever I play, everything just goes away. Playing sports has both helped with my mental health and my physical health. Whenever I play, I feel like I am getting more and more younger as time goes on. My main sport is basketball, and I have been playing since I was three years old. It is that one thing from my childhood that has still stuck with me, and I am still not ready to let it go. Even though there are so many other things that I would rather do than play basketball, those things simply just have a end to it. Basketball though, does not. I can play for hours and hours and come back the next day just to feel like I am playing for the first time in my life. Watching sports is also another thing that I enjoy doing in my free time. Even though playing the actual sport is fun, watching my favorite people dominate the game is the best part of basketball. Steph Curry, LeBron James, are my favorite basketball players and everyone knows, Curry is better. I hope I never have to let go of sports, its the one thing that I can count on, whenever I am stressed, or just bored.

ReplyDeleteHi Darshan! I found your blog really insightful and relatable. I can understand the feeling of wanting to cling on to childhood hobbies, such as sports and basketball too. Similar to how you continue to play basketball, I have continued my childhood hobbies of reading and art. I can also relate to your description of loving sports. Even though I did not play much basketball growing up, other sports like soccer and volleyball stuck with me until high school. I also agree with you, that sports are a great way to have good mental health, and are very fun to play. Overall, I found your blog really interesting and fun to read, and can’t wait to read what you post next!
ReplyDeleteHi Darshan,
ReplyDeleteI love drawing, and similar to how you always stuck to basketball from a young age and could keep on playing it continuously, I stuck to art from a very young age and I haven’t let go of it since then, drawing for hours on end without stopping is a very common thing for me. As time progressed, years of practice has made me a pretty big expert on drawing, because I truly enjoyed doing it. If I ever have a rough day or I feel tired, I just snag the nearest piece of paper and start doodling to my heart's content. Like your passion for basketball, drawing never stopped for me. Your blog was really fun to read, and I found myself relating to many things you said.
Hey Darshan!
ReplyDeleteI loved reading your blog about sports this week! I was lucky to have you as a teammate for many years, as well as play against you as well. You are such a creative basketball player, and honestly loved being your teammate and watching you. I actually started playing basketball at the age of 4, with the mini indoor hoop my parents bought for me for my birthday. It's actually somewhere dissembled in my garage right now :), but those memories are always the best. I also loved how you included some "goats" in the list, like Lebron and Steph. Those two in particular are my idols, and they have truly shifted how the NBA is looked at now. I have been lucky to watch Curry about 6 times, but yet to see Lebron. Maybe we can go together one day! Overall, loved reading your blog, as sports is my favorite topic of discussion!
