Harini Kannan Week 12 - Mini Pizzas, Max Power
Mini Pizzas, Max Power
Few things in life hold true, undeniable power. Love? Maybe. Knowledge? Okay, sure. But have you ever had Trader Joe's mini pizzas? Because that is power.
Officially, they're called Spizzico di Pizza, but I just call them mini pizzas. They come in a frozen box with a dozen, deceptively simple yet life-changing. They are soft, cheesy, and perfect. They are the reason I've survived late-night study sessions, post-work exhaustion, and moments of existential crisis when I stare at my fridge and realize I have no idea what I want to eat.
The power of these little pizzas isn't just in their taste, although they are eccellente. It's in their reliability. They never let me down. They just need to microwave for 1 minute, require zero effort, and make me feel like I have my life together (I absolutely do not).
I could have a 10-page paper due, an SAT practice test looming, and my dog staring at me because I forgot to take him on a walk, but the second I pop those mini pizzas into the microwave, life just feels manageable. It's like a little act of self-care, a reminder that no matter how chaotic my life may get, there's always time for a snack.
AND they're only $3.49! 12 mini pizzas for only that much? Such a steal! Sorry, I just had to include that. Now you can convince your parents to get the pizzas without them complaining that it's a waste of money.
So, what's the lesson here? The power of Trader Joe's mini pizzas goes beyond being a snack. They are a moment of peace, a small victory after a long day, and a reminder that sometimes, the simplest things can hold the most power.
P.S. I wanted to include a picture of my own box of mini pizzas, but unfortunately, I've already eaten them all.

Hi Harini! I have heard about the Trader Joe’s mini pizza, but never tried them. I thought they would be just another one of those pizza bites that I already have in the freezer, but the way you described them really makes me want to try them now. For you small victory after a long day is eating the small pizzas, but for me it can either watching a small youtube video after finishing my school work, or it can also be playing a quick game of basketball. Having a small victory treat after working on either homework or studying for a test, really just pushes me to work harder because I know that if I do, then it will lead to me getting a certain reward.
ReplyDeleteHI Harini! You know what, I have never ever heard about Trader Joe's mini pizza, but after reading your blog I might have to go down there and try it myself. I love the way in which you highlight the idea of finding power through "mini" items in life that often get overlooked. This essentially fosters the idea of how the perception of power is subjective to everyone, some may measure power by its size and popularity, while others may relate power to memories, feelings, and the miniscule pieces of life that latch on to us throughout our journey's. Your blog about a simple yet empowering mini pizza made me realize that power doesn't come from the item or perception of the idea itself, but rather the personal attachment that we have to it.
ReplyDeleteHey Harini, your blog was so enjoyable to read. The true joy that these mini pizzas bring can really be seen through your writing. I will say I have never seen these at Trader Joe's, but from the image and description you gave, they sound really good. Just like how these mini pizzas keep you going, there are a few things which keep me going through late nights and important tasks. One of them is popcorn. Popcorn is one of my favorite late night snacks. It is crunchy, salty, and buttery. Just the perfect amount of savory making you crave water, but also making you grab more to stuff your mouth again. I can eat basically an endless amount of popcorn. And actually I might make some right now!
ReplyDeleteHi Harini, I think it’s great that you appreciate all the little things in life. Your extensive descriptions and genuinity really shone through in this post, and now I might just have to go and try those mini pizzas myself. It’s crazy how such a simple food could hold so much influence over your life, despite how easily it's overlooked by others. It just goes to show that things only have influence if you choose to give it power. Reading your post made me think about my old stuffed toys, because although they seemed insignificant to others, to me they were a source of comfort and an anchor in the chaos that is life.
