Speech is a way we can express ourselves from our thoughts to our feelings. Whenever we listen to a speech and feel extremely motivated to do something, that comes from the power of speech. But not all speeches can be motivational. Some speeches can be to express someones thoughts on a particular subject, or some speeches can be about how someone wants to change a problem that is occurring in the world. Not all speeches can be great though, it mostly depends on the person carrying out the speech. If someone wants to talk about a motivational speech, there would be a high chance of them including some personal experiences that they have had regarding on the topic of the speech. They will also use real life examples to make there speech sound more powerful and more convincing. These types of people who give speeches with great meaning and a high chance of the audience understanding what the speaker is saying, are mostly public speakers. Public speakers have no fear in what they are trying to portray to there audience, they go on stage and deliver there speech in hopes to get someone to agree with them, or someone to really understand what the speech is about. Not all speeches have to be about a serious problem or something that can motivate a person, they can also be used in classroom by a teacher to explain a specific topic and it can help the students to understand the topic with a deeper meaning. Speech has a extremely high power, it can get people on the same boat about a specific topic and it can also separate people from each other because of them disagreeing about what the speaker is saying. Speech must be something that can’t be forgotten by others, it can change the lives of people and it can bring people together because of the high power it holds.
Hi Darshan! Your explanation of how speech can be a powerful influence on people was very interesting to read. Your use of explanation to reinforce your claims really strengthened the argument in your blog. The different types of speeches you talked about like motivational, instructional, and more, helped me understand more about them. Additionally, your explanation of how different types of speeches are carried out, for example when motivational speakers use personal stories, also gave me a better understanding of the power of speeches.
ReplyDeleteHey Darshan! I'm super happy that I have you in my blog cohort this year! I was super excited to read your blog this week! I loved the title and the picture you incorporated in your article. I loved how you brought the fact of "when you read a motivational speech, you get motivated." We all have been there, especially for me, whenever I see a Lebron James edit, I want to go outside my house and dunk the basketball, just like he did. He is a huge inspiration to me, and motivational speech with background music that is inspiring, is videos I love to watch. I loved when you talked about how speech has power, because speech has immense power to change your views on something. I also loved how you ended, with when speech can't be forgotten by others, if it truly made an impact! Overall, I loved reading your blog and can't wait for next week!
ReplyDeleteHi Darshan,
ReplyDeleteYour exploration of the power of speech is well thought out and highlights how impactful words can be in shaping opinions, inspiring action and fostering understanding. I appreciate how you acknowledge the different purposes that speech can serve, some to motivate, some inform, and some challenge perspectives.
You make a great point on how the effectiveness of a speech often depends on the speaker, personal and real-life examples can amplify and make a speech even more relatable, which strengthens its impact on its audience. I also like how you touched on speech holding the power to divide or unite. It’s interesting how words can bring people under a shared belief or create rifts of disagreement.
Your reflection really highlights the nuances of speech, well said!
